Bangkok International Airport (BKK) Travel by Buses

Passengers will find four airport express bus routes to major destinations in Bangkok. The buses are comfortable, air-conditioned and have ample space for luggage. The Departures area is located outside the Arrivals area on the second level of the terminal, and the fare to the city is quite reasonable.

The four routes are as follows: AE1, Suvarnabhumi to Silom road; AE2 Suvarnabhumi to Khao San road; AE3, Suvarnabhumi to Central World (via Sukhumvit road); and A4, Suvarnabhumi to Hua Lamphong Railway Station (via Victory Monument).

Public buses are also available, with service departing from the bus terminal at the airport's Transport Centre. There is a shuttle bus from outside the Arrivals area to the Transport Centre. Routes connect the airport with Bangkok and destinations surrounding Bangkok as well as other provinces. Timetables are available at the bus terminal.

Shuttle Buses

The single shuttle bus service at Bangkok International Airport links the passenger terminal building with the Transport Centre. From the Transport Centre, you can make connections to many Bangkok destinations by taxi, express bus and public bus.

Hotel Shuttles

Hotel shuttle buses do not operate regularly from the passenger terminal building, and anyone interested in transportation provided by city hotels will need to make arrangements in advance.

Taxi Cabs

Metered taxi services are readily available at the taxi stand, located at the Transport Centre. Shuttle buses to the Transport Centre leave from outside the Arrivals level of the terminal building. It is also possible to arrange a taxi from the terminal itself, and if you prefer to do so, you should go to Level 1, after clearing customs, and ask at the taxi counter for service to your destination. It may well take less time however if you go to the Transport Centre by shuttle (10 minutes), where there is an abundance of taxis waiting.

At both locations, you will be given a slip with your destination indicated. The driver will also have this information, and you should check the meter is switched on before embarking on your journey. If you choose to use the expressway, the toll will be added to the meter, as will an airport surcharge. Carrying smaller notes and coins is a good practice, as taxi drivers often don't carry sufficient change. Depending on the traffic and your destination in the city, the journey will take from 30 minutes to more than an hour.

Limousine

Six types of limousine service are available at BKK Airport, on a 24-hour basis. If you are interested in luxury transport to Bangkok or surrounding areas, contact the Limousine Service Counter on the Arrivals level. The pick-up area is also on the Arrivals level, at the outer curb.
