Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets

There is a huge variety of shops at Bangkok International Airport featuring Thai products and handicrafts, designer goods, jewellery, clothing and gifts. Book, newspaper and magazine shops are plentiful, as are duty-free shops, which are found throughout Level 3, as you make your way to the Departures area on Level 4.

Bars, Cafés and Restaurants

Bangkok International Airport has restaurants on Level 6 and also an inexpensive Thai food court on Level 4 (Departures level) between the domestic and international concourses. Most of the other options offer fast food, served up by international and local chains, although some speciality food vendors are represented.

Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities

Bangkok International Airport has a number of ATM machines spread around the terminal and currency exchange counters that are open 24 hours. Currency exchange outlets are operated by major banks, and the rates offered at the airport do not differ significantly from those offered in Bangkok. Internet access is available, but is expensive.

Business and Conference Facilities

Other than internet service, there are no business or conference facilities at Bangkok International. However, the Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel, connected to the airport by a walkway, boasts facilities for business travellers as well as conference facilities in six well-appointed rooms, suitable for up to 800 participants.

Disabled Facilities

Facilities for the disabled at Suvarnabhumi include moving walkways, lifts in most locations throughout the passenger terminal building and toilets with facilities for individuals with handicaps. The facilities are not comprehensive however and distances along the concourses can be lengthy. It has also been reported that the space provided around the toilets for the disabled is insufficient to comfortably manoeuvre a wheelchair.
